Highlands Hope works with The Foundation for Civil Society to address health services challenges in Njombe Tanzania

The FCS is a Tanzanian non-profit company, designed and funded by a group of like-minded development partners, and governed by an independent Board. It enables citizens to become a strong driving force for change in improving the democratic governance of Tanzania, in fighting poverty and in achieving a better quality life for all. Recently, FCS has started working with Highlands Hope Umbrella based in Njombe Tanzania to implement Good governance project focusing Maternal and Child health service delivery improvements.

Terry’s Tanzania

In January 2006, Montreal’s famed Gazette cartoonist Terry Mosher (Aislin) traveled to the Southern Highlands of the East African nation of Tanzania to visit Highlands Hope.

He captured the beauty, the heartbreak and the courageous determination of Highlands Hope activists like nurse Betty Liduke, community-organizer Jackson Mbogela, and the men, women and children who make the Makete and Njombe Districts of Tanzania a very special place.
